Abstract
Summary form only given. The authors present a novel fibre wavelength converter architecture based on the joint use of Kerr phase modulation and interferometric conversion where drawbacks are greatly reduced. The proposed interferometric architecture maintains all the advantages of the Kerr effect band phase modulation in fiber while assuring a very low operation noise.
