Abstract :
Ceramic is widely used in electronic packages, the process of multilayer green ceramic tapes and co-firing is very popular now. Tape casting process is the main method of forming the green ceramic tape. The method involves mixing ceramic powder and binder, adding chemical agents to the components of the ceramic tape to manipulate cross linking of the binder, and casting the mixture of the ceramic powder. The binder and the binder manipulating chemical agent are casted then as a green tape. The chemical structure and molecular weight (Mw) of plasticizer on the physical properties of green tapes were investigated. The Al2O3 green tapes prepared with phthalate-based plasticizers (DOP) were found to be more stable in Al2O3/PVB system.
