Abstract
This paper provides a technical description of the electrical system for an operating gas turbine-based combined cycle power plant for a pulp and paper mill. The control and electrical challenges associated with adding a steam turbine-generator to the plant are discussed. The addition of switchgear, the bus and cable system, transformer tap settings, protective relaying issues, distributed control system upgrade, and starting are discussed.
