  • Abstract
Because of increasingly serious environmental issues in the world, environmental behavior (EB) becomes a new direction in the study of environmental science. To find out the factors which impact EB significantly is the basis and key to improve individual EB. We summarize four major variables including attitudinal, characteristic, cognitive and situational variables which influence EB on the basis of literature review. Adopted empirical study and data analysis, we prove the relationship between the four variables and EB, and analyze respectively the most significant determinants of four categories of EB. Results indicate that the determinants which have significant influence on all types of EB are environmental knowledge, characteristic variables and impeditive factors; although most of the respondents have positive environmental attitude, the attitude hardly leads to a corresponding EB. At last, we present the explanation, limitation and implication for both the practice and the academic research
