Abstract :
Discipline scientific research level is an important manifestation of integrated academic strength in higher educational institutes. This paper establishes an evaluation system for key discipline scientific research level, in combination with the comprehensive investment project in Tianjin municipal universities during the “11th Five-Year” plan, and measures scientific research input and output efficiency of 58 key disciplines in 15 universities based on DEA and SFA methods. Then it carries out correlation analysis and consistency test for the two types of efficiency values and rankings. The result shows that input and output efficiencies have significant difference in numerical sequencing but have good consistency in terms of efficiency ranking.
