Abstract :
Multi-wavelet is extension of wavelet theory, it provides a more precise way of image analysis than wavelet multi-resolution. Two images can be fused to a fused picture by means of multi-wavelet analysis, the method of multi-wavelet analysis can fusion detail of original images successfully. This paper proposed an image fusion method based on balanced multi-wavelet transformation. Image fusion effect of GHM multi-wavelet, non-balanced CL multi-wavelet, balanced CL multi-wavelet and balanced opt-recl multi-wavelet are compared. Experimental results demonstrate that the multi-wavelet method perform better than the method based on non-balanced multi-wavelet transform with clearer spatial presentation while keeping spectral characteristic.
