DAVIC-compliant multimedia presentation through MHEG/DSM-CC

The development of computer and communication technologies has led to the emergence of multimedia-based systems that handle a variety of media (from text to audio-visual data) and their integration. This paper investigates the fundamentals of MHEG presentation, which often requires efficient and effective audio-visual data transmission based on the Digital Audio-Visual Council (DAVIC) specifications. The paper also provides an insight into DAVIC specifications, including relevant issues such as digital storage media command and control (DSM-CC) and common object request broker architecture (CORBA).
