Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a novel motion estimation algorithm called improved three-step search (ITSS). Based on preset motion vectors, a combination of multi-resolution estimation and sub-sampling of a criterion function, and random optimization, this algorithm leads to a better performance compared to the conventional three-step search.
