Abstract :
Harvesting impact energy of water current can provide electricity for various kinds of self-powered low energy consumption apparatus. In this paper, the authors have presented a new vibratory generator utilizing the impact of water current and investigated its working performance. It uses electromagnetic induction principle to convert water current´s kinetic energy into electrical energy by using the water impact and the resulted vibration of a spring-mass system in generator. The experimental results show that the power generation of the vibratory generator is affected by a variety of factors such as the impact position and velocity, total amount of impacting water, amount of impacting water per unity time, and water height at the bottom of generator. The vibration generator can generate electricity by employing the flow at outlets of fluidic transportation and storage facilities.
