  • Abstract
The management of transactions is among the main issues to tackle in many current applications such as multimedia applications or visio-conferencing. Theses applications are often distributed over several sites, they manipulate large volumes of data and their actions have temporal constraints and are causally related. Therefore, DRT-DBSs1 are the systems that manage them efficiently, notably if the transaction concurrency control and commit processes take into account the precedence relationships which might exist between transactions or subtransactions. In this paper, we propose causal-prompt protocol to manage the commit process of such transactions. We show that causal-prompt protocol respects certain transactions properties and enhances the real-time transaction success ratio (number of transactions that meet their deadlines/total number of transactions).
