Abstract :
Chromatic dispersion compensation using a virtually imaged phased array is described. This method has advantageous features: continuously variable dispersion over a /spl sim/4000 ps/nm range, simultaneous compensation of over 50 WDM channels with 100 GHz spacing, and potential for small packaging.
