Abstract
Assembly lines are traditional and still attractive means of mass and large-scale series production. With the emergence of organization form of the assembly line, an important decision problem, called assembly line balancing problem, arises and has to be solved. In this paper, based on the traditional technology of industrial engineering, a method combined the simulation optimization is proposed to solve the problem. Firstly, the process analysis and the work study are used to collect the basic data of line balancing. Secondly, analysis the bottlenecks on the assembly line and apply the relevant skills of industrial engineering to optimize these workstations. Thirdly, find out and decrease the waste in the assembly line. At last, the visualization simulation of production line system is discussed in the paper, and the application of simulation-optimization line balancing method is proposed in order to evaluate the project of improvement.
