Abstract :
A simplified gain-response model of semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) is proposed on the basis of its features of rapid saturation and slow recovery, in which the gain-response curve of SOA is expressed by a segmented linear function. By using this model, the switching characteristics of terahertz optical asymmetric demultiplexer (TOAD) are analyzed in the case of small asymmetry.
