Abstract
High efficiency of a DC/DC converter over very wide load range is necessary for battery supplied systems. In this paper, a 0.9 V output buck converter of which the load changes from 10 mW to 1 W is designed to optimize the efficiency by employing novel control strategies with automatic discontinuous current mode detection. High density can be achieved since current sensing is eliminated that makes the whole circuit integrable. Experimental results verified the high efficiency over the entire load range
