Abstract :
Summary form only given. After more than one year of effort, the RTT proposal: TD-SCDMA is now standardized by CWTS and will become one of the ITU-R recommendations for IMT-2000. The basic concept of TD-SCDMA, the main feature of the RTT, and a brief introduction of the standard is reported in the paper. In addition, a proposal for the migration from GSM to 3G mobile is presented and the R&D activity in TD-SCDMA prototype is reported.
