Abstract :
An enhanced 3-D finite-difference time-domain algorithm is proposed in this letter to efficiently simulate a quasi-2-D material sheet. By implementing in calculation the cross-sheet discontinuity of tangential magnetic field previously omitted, the algorithm reported herein thus represents a more general and precise formulation suitable for modeling not only a dielectric, but also a highly conductive thin layer. The proposed algorithm is then rigorously validated, and an excellent agreement between the simulated results and the analytical solutions with a modeling error as low as −59 dB has been demonstrated.
