Abstract :
We discuss the need among commercial fruit sorters for an estimation of individual fruit volume. A machine vision algorithm is developed which estimates fruit volume from two-dimensional digital images. The algorithm is rotationally invariant and does not rely on the mechanics of the conveyor system to align the fruit
