Abstract :
In this study, in order to investigate the effects of the crystallite size on the photoluminescence properties of a phosphor, monodisperse spherical SiO2/Y2O3:Eu3+ phosphor core/shell particles were synthesized. On the surface of the monodisperse spherical SiO2 core particles prepared by a sol-gel method, continuous and smooth Y2O3:Eu3+ phosphor shell was coated by a heterogeneous precipitation method.
