Abstract :
In this paper, we show intense electron emission from graphite nanoneedle (GRANN) cathode fabricated by simple plasma etching of a graphite rod. This GRANN cathode is superior to CNTs from the point of view of adherence problems. The performance of the GRANN cathode was demonstrated by the fabrication of highly efficient field emission lamps (FELs).
