Abstract
On-line ultrasonic monitoring of the polymer injection molding process is carried out. The completion of the filling is monitored by two ultrasonic transducers (UTs) and the flow front speed is evaluated by one UT. The variation of elastic properties, shrinkage and solid-liquid interface development of the injected part during the solidification stage are observed. The flow speed is also measured using two clad buffer rods with two UTs. All measurements are performed using 5 MHz UTs
