Abstract :
A electronic image stabilizing method for omni-directional camera system is put forward in this paper. The omni-directional camera system has an advantage of nearly 360 degree camera angle. Due to the fact that omni-directional image sequence can not be observed easily, we first translate the omni-directional image sequence into the objective original image sequence and then study image stabilization. The omni-directional image unrolling algorithm and image stabilizing method are analyzed in depth in this paper. Based on gray projection algorithm, image stabilizing method in omni-directional camera system is proposed. The hardware of the system is composed of omni-directional devices, CCD, image acquisition card and computer and the software program (DirectShow platform via VC++). Experiment results indicate that it is a practical method to realize electronic image stabilization in omni-directional camera system. Meanwhile it is a method characterized by high speed and accuracy as well.
