            Abstract :
A Co/PdSiO2 multilayer is prepared on thermally oxidized Si wafers at room temperature by DC and RF magnetron sputtering with RuCo and PdSiO2 as underlayers . The effect of the underlayers (RuCo, PdSiO2, and RuCo/PdSiO2) on the films is examined by comparing the effects of each underlayers to the grain structures, coercivity, magnetic domains and the degree of magnetic exchange coupling of the samples.
