Abstract
In response to demand from industry for flexible and accessible courses, the Institute for System Level Integration (ISLI) has launched a distance learning programme in System Level Integration (SLI). The introduction of the programme has made the SLI syllabus increasingly accessible to experienced industrial engineers and to new graduates, allowing them to achieve enhanced skills in specific areas of design and to gain a valuable qualification. In this paper, the main challenges in the development of the programme are discussed and initial experiences in running the course are presented.
