Abstract
Summary form only given. We report on the design and performance of a double-clad silica fiber laser being doped with Nd/sub 2/O/sub 3/ emitting at 1053 nm. A semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM) was used to achieve mode-locking. We have worked in the normal dispersion region applying no intracavity dispersion compensation.
