Abstract
According to the morbid matrix produced in solving the Rational Function Model (RFM), we adopted the narrow ridge estimation method to overcome this difficulty. After analysis of this method based on limitation and computational theory, we theoretically predicted an interval, guiding us to conduct following experiments using enormous Spot5 satellite images. Results demonstrated the existence of the interval. Error decay curves showed that when the ridge estimator was between [10-10, 10-5], RFM fitted well the rigorous sensor model (RSM) and both accuracy and stability were well balanced. Besides, proposals with different grids were compared and contrasted as well as a panchromatic image.
