Abstract :
In this paper we design a backhaul scheme for uplink cooperation, which is based on distributed source coding (DSC). With this backhaul scheme, base stations cooperatively serve the cell edge users in order to improve their performance. In cooperative uplink, both cooperating BS and serving BS receive signal from cell edge users, the cooperating BS decodes cell edge users firstly, and sends the syndrome coded re-modulated signal to serving cell, the serving BS uses directly received signal as side information and combines syndrome coded signal to decode interference user jointly, then cancels the interference user signal. Our simulation shows that direct decoding without interference cancellation does not work when SINR drop to a certain threshold, at this time, interference cancellation with DSC can improve performance significantly, and the distributed source coding scheme reduces the backhaul overhead dramatically.
