Abstract :
Waveguides with elliptical cross-section are of considerable interest since, when compared to circular waveguides, they provide additional degrees of freedom for the design of complex waveguide components. We present the full-wave modal analysis of the discontinuity between rectangular and elliptical waveguides; theoretical results are compared with measured data showing the accuracy of the proposed approach.
