Abstract
Energy is an expensive commodity in Long term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-A) networks. Coordinated MultiPoint (CoMP) has been adopted by the 3GPP community due to its techniques to mitigate inter-cell interference. Therefore, investigating this technique in terms of energy saving is well worth. In this paper, we propose a framework for CoMP scenario which minimizes the energy consumption of the network using the sleep and active mode of the transmission points on the basis of the traffic threshold.
