Abstract :
Reliability is the most crucial issue in biomedical CAS. We present an integrated test approach for Biomedical CAS to be used in high-reliability and high-availability software design. The testing process consists of multistage performance and takes place in Self-Testing Module which works without disturbing the normal operation. The design of detecting and testing scheme in self-testing module is proposed to assure performance and reliability with high confidence level. The entire chip, storage units and peripherals are tested by the module which guarantees complete testing of both logic cells and interconnect with diagnostic resolution. The proposed method has been successfully implemented and demonstrated on the series M16C/62P from Renesas technologies.
