Abstract :
An observation system which can record instantaneous domain wall positions over a sequence of magnetising cycles at power frequencies is presented. The use of the system for studying domain wall motion in grain-oriented silicon steel, non-oriented silicon steel, manganese-doped cobalt ferrite and magnetic microwire are presented as examples of the range of the system´s capability and to illustrate its value for investigating nonrepeatable wall motion. Results show that the system is capable of real time observations in a variety of materials.
