Abstract :
This paper proposes a novel position sensorless control in the overmodulation range of an inverter for IPMSMs with magnetic non-linearity. This paper describes the simultaneous achievement of (1) position sensorless control, (2) robust maximum torque per ampere control in consideration of the magnetic non-linearity in an IPMSM, and (3) robust overmodulation drives of the inverter. First, this paper describes the maximum torque control method based on a new mathematical model of an IPMSM. Next, this paper proposes a modification method for the voltage references. Finally, this paper shows the performances of the proposed method.
