Abstract :
This paper describes an implementation of recommender system to facilitate the user proactive search to find interesting products (e.g. movies in a movie store). Using an application installed on users´ mobiles and client-server architecture, the mobile interacts with the recommender through its built-in communications facilities and the wireless LAN installed in shopping centers. Recommender system can infer what individual customers want and thus give those appropriate recommendations according to the user´s tastes (ratings) and enhanced k-means clustering algorithm. The paper contains an overview of the system architecture and the services should be offered through a brief scenario. The entity relationship diagram, class diagram and other design decisions are reviewed. The system can be customized to be used in malls, bookstores and others.
