Abstract :
GARSON is a new approach to autonomic and cognitive network management. This paper describes the main features of GARSON and its position among similar approaches. GARSON consists of several `planes´ playing different roles in the network management hierarchy. The autonomic monitoring plane and autonomic actuating plane of GARSON are described in more detail. The basic structure of GARSON network components is provided as well. The conclusions are drawn at the end of this paper, showing the possible usage areas of GARSON.
