Abstract :
In March of 2009, the authors were asked by the Lummi Nation to perform a study to determine the technical feasibility of, and potential regulatory issues involved with, installing tidal power turbines in the outlet gates of their Lummi Fish Farms facility in conjunction with their already planned gate replacement activities. This paper provides a summary of the authors work for the Lummi Nation that can serve as a case study of the potential for barrage-type tidal energy development in the United States.
