Abstract :
In the last decade, due to increasing environmental concerns, advances in renewable energy technologies, reduced demand growth and increased T&D cost, we have seen a considerable growth of distributed generation in distribution networks. In this situation, new players are introduced into the markets which significantly increase the uncertainties in the system. The concept of active management of distributed energy resources (DER) is a practical approach to deal with increased uncertainty and complication in future power systems. The aim of this paper is to propose an OPF-based methodology for optimal coordination of the several generation technologies included in active distribution network with the minimum costs. Renewable obligation certificate is also considered in this paper. The proposed methodology is tested using a network configuration system with 18-buses.
