Abstract :
Snow and Ice are dominant components of the polar regions and seasonally cover large areas of the Northern Hemisphere. Because they cover large areas and are closely linked to the global climate system, snow and sea ice are very useful for monitoring the climate system. The National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) distributes several data sets that facilitate the observation of sea ice and snow
