Abstract :
This paper describes evaluation of IGBT partial turn-off behavior by 3 types of circuit topologies, hard switching (SW) type, Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) type and Tail Loss Cancel (TLC) method. Partial turn-off method by ZVS without over elimination in proposed Snubber Assisted Zero voltage and Zero current transition (SAZZ) topology obtained highest efficiency of 97.42 % at 30 kW, 1.82 % higher than hard SW from 95.6 % and highest efficiency over whole power region.
