Abstract
A new method for compensating position error of the Hall-element linear position sensors equipped in a cylindrical linear motor is proposed. The compensation is characterized by the filtered position signal processing when the mover is driven at a constant speed at preliminary test. An additional linear scale is not required. The method is verified by experiment.
