Abstract :
Stable form of bead-shaped heterogeneous nanoparticle catalysts viz., polymer-supported poly(styrene) functionalized with poly(vinylbenzylchloride) beads grafted Poly(propyleneimine) dendrimer (PPI-G2) immobilized/stabilized gold nanoparticles (PS-PVBC-PPI(G2)- AuNPs) catalyst was synthesized from 2% cross-linked Poly(vinylbenzylchloride) beads, PPI-G2 and HAuCl4 as stabilizer and metal precursors. The formation of the catalyst was proved through characterization of UV-Visible, FT-IR, XRD, SEM, FESEM and EDAX techniques. The catalytic efficiency of this heterogeneous nanocatalyst viz., PS-PVBC-PPI(G2)-AuNPs was examined by conducting the knovenegal condensation reaction and the obtained results shows excellent activity. The stability and recycle/reusability of the catalyst was also inspected and observed to be good.
