Abstract :
Polyaniline-zinc sulphide nanocomposite has been synthesized by the chemical oxidative polymerization of aniline with ammonium peroxodisulphate as an initiator in presence of zinc sulphide nanoparticles. XRD, HRTEM, FTIR, UV-Vis spectroscopy and photoluminescence studies were done for the structural and optical characterization of the samples. The particle size of nanocomposites lies in between 6-11 nm. The d.c. conductivity of different PANI-ZnS samples have been investigated within a temperature range 77 ≤ T ≤ 300K. ZnS nanoparticles in the polyaniline matrix increases the conductivity by several orders.
