Abstract :
Array of alumina nano rods on the porous anodic alumina membrane scaffold has been achieved by anodization of high pure Al sheet in 0.4M phosphoric acid. A two step anodization methodology was adopted to grow the porous alumina membranes with a pore size and wall thickness of 80 nm and 100 nm respectively followed by a prolonged anodization to grow bunches of alumina nano rods and a few nano walls. The X-ray diffraction and energy dispersive spectra confirmed the phase and composition of the nano structures respectively.
