BR Research has been involved with developing advanced railway systems monitoring technology for over 20 years. A wide variety of systems have been produced to assist with cost reduction and performance improvement of trains in service. Of particular importance are systems to improve reliability by predicting failure, systems that monitor the number of passengers travelling and a track mounted system to monitor the thickness of brake pads
