Cost and schedule risk analysis in major engineering projects

Risk analysis is the common expression relating to the use of Monte Carlo simulation methods in the development of improved cost and schedule estimates for large scale engineering projects. Although Monte Carlo methods have been available to engineers for many years, it is only recently that these methods have become more commonly applied in the management and planning phases.
