Abstract
Risk analysis is the common expression relating to the use of Monte Carlo simulation methods in the development of improved cost and schedule estimates for large scale engineering projects. Although Monte Carlo methods have been available to engineers for many years, it is only recently that these methods have become more commonly applied in the management and planning phases. The purpose of this paper is to outline the method as it is currently applied and suggest future directions
