Abstract
Perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR) is being used to achieve higher recording density in hard disk derive (HDD) instead of longitudinal magnetic recording. This paper proposes a way on how to observe noise, which causes decision error, and have clarified by R/W simulation that the method is effective for obtaining the relationship between the decision error and generated noise. We are confirming the effect of the proposed method by actual R/W experiments using a spin-stand system.
