Abstract :
The efficiency of a motor drive combined with an inverter increases by exploiting the maximum voltage level that can be provided by the inverter. This paper presents a novel control strategy for permanent magnet synchronous machines in the field-weakening range. The inverter´s voltage margin is utilised completely using only the variation of the torque angle and avoiding any zero voltage vectors in steady state operation.
