Abstract :
Cooperative diversity is one of the emerging areas in modern wireless network, where each user transmits their own data to the base station and also serves as a relay for other user. For the purpose of relay selection and cooperation, protocols are needed to form groups. Grouping is done based upon the instantaneous Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) of user to base station channel and the corresponding target rate of the user. We use this strategy to perform grouping based selection combining scheme for a single relay cooperative system. The symbol error probability (SEP) for this scheme minimizes when incorporating the effect of the source relay link.
