Abstract :
The mechanisms by which magnetostatic and electromagnetic fields interact with biosystems are discussed. Classical mechanisms, quantum mechanisms, the effects of DC magnetic fields, and the effects of modulated DC magnetic fields are discussed. It is concluded that both magnetostatic and electromagnetic fields have effects on plant and animal systems; these effects can be hazardous under certain conditions and can lead to death in the extreme case
