Abstract
A new structure for adaptive interpolated finite impulse response (AFIR) filtering is presented, in which the RLS algorithm can be directly applied for updating only the nonzero coefficients of the sparse filter. The approach is based on the linearly-constrained filter called the generalized sidelobe canceller. The performance of the RLS algorithm applied to the AIFIR filtering is illustrated by simulations and compared with that of the LMS algorithm
