Abstract
Recently, more and more people have awareness that we should focus on the communication, cooperation and coordination (3Cs) among the actors in virtual teams. Much researches on designing methodologies for collaborative information system in academic and industrial communities in many countries. This paper introduces a new methodology called awareness net model for considering how to design collaborative information system in the virtual team. This whole processes through constructs the net graph (awareness net) to describe the relationships among the actors within virtual teams, and analyze actor´s collaborative requirement of awareness by five awareness levels (level-0 to level-4 awareness). Could the awareness net model be used in Chinese company? A case study representing a collaborative process in customer service department in Gome Corporation is used throughout this paper. Finally, the author find out the application of the methodology contribute to identifying the collaborative requirement of actors and designing what kind of databases, interactive interface, communication tools, et are needed in Gome Corporation.
