Abstract
The mobile electronic commerce (MEC) has become the development trend of the electronic commerce (EC) with the rapid development of wireless and mobile technologies in recent years. It is the new issue that how business intelligence (BI) technologies meets MEC´s functional requirements. According to three new features of MEC: mobility, unstructured data and personalization, this paper analyzed business processes of MEC with a wireless application protocol (WAP) gateway provider model with eleven steps, analyzed requirements on BI in MEC. Then, a general BI process with six phases in MEC is proposed and the functional problems in this process are examined. Finally, as an actual case, a recommendation system in MEC with an improved BI application architecture based on model-view-controller (MVC) is proposed with some relevant suggestions.
